My Pop 1 guitar students at the City of Bath College were set a task to learn a song to performance standard for a play-through to a classroom of their peers on their return to college this term.
The class were asked to consider the following:
- Fluency
- RH/LH technique
- Rhythm
- Sync (timing)
- Confidence and presentation
- Stylistic awareness

You’ve never had it so good…
One of the key learning opportunities from performing in front of a room full of your peers is that they will be your kindest audience you’re ever likely to perform to. A paying customer will not be appreciative of a poor performance and a judges panel or audition for a band/university place will not take too kindly to an unprofessional attitude.
X-Factor - There may not be a more attractive panel of judges anywhere else but in the real world the scrutiny is just as tough.
