Kit Morgan is a professional guitar player, composer and producer who lives in Bristol, England. Kit has travelled the world with the likes of Vanessa Mae and Ian Anderson and is currently working with ’70s cult band Curved Air.
I first met Kit whilst studying at Bath Spa University when he came to talk about working in the music business. Kit has written many guitar lessons for guitar magazines over the years but it was his solo guitar arrangement for Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ that encapsulated every essence of this mans genius. Kit sent me a copy of the transcription, which he kindly signed “GOOD LUCK, RICHARD! All the best, Kit Morgan”.
Have a listen to Kit’s arrangement:
The arrangement was first published in the Summer 1997 edition of Total Guitar Magazine (Issue 32).
You can catch Kit performing alongside his daughter, Jo, in and around Bristol in their band 2 Far GTR. Check them out on MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/2fargtr and on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/2-far-GTR
Hi Richard
You don’t know me. Saw your site.
I’ve got Antonio Forcioni coming to do a solo gig at Plantations -Clevedon. It’s going to be an up-close gig. Just wondering if you know of anyone who would like to see it. We’re keeping the tickets to a 100 (£20). We have 26 left. It’s on the 10th Dec. Fri.
Regards
Paul
Hi Paul,
Thanks for your message. My good friend, Stuart Ryan, has mentioned you and his gigs at your place before. I will put a note about Antonios gig in my Bath Guitar School newsletter next month (October).
Cheers,
Richard
Thanks for that, Richard.
I’ve always liked Kit’s arrangement. Nice to hear it again!
Hey Richard,
I played with Kit last night at the open mic he runs with his daughter at the Mall in Clifton. He’s awesome and such a giving player.
Nice article by the way,
Dan
Thanks, Dan.
I first met Kit at Bath Spa University when he came to give us an industry talk. The guy is so humble and deserves every praise he gets!
Cheers!
Richard
Saw Kit playing with Curved Air last night, was really impressed. What a talented guy, and so passionate about playing. Look forward to seeing him play again.
