RIP Captain Beefheart ~ 1941-2010

Captain Beefheart

Captain Beefheart

Don Van Vliet, aka ‘Captain Beefheart’, died on 17th December 2010, aged 69, of complications from multiple sclerosis in a North California hospital.

It was Captain Beefheart’s vocals on Frank Zappa’s “Willie The Pimp“, which can be found on the 1969 album “Hot Rats”, that first caught my attention to his genius. RIP, Don!
