Amy Winehouse found dead, aged 27

Amy Winehouse, 27, was found dead at her home in Camden, north London today, Saturday, 23rd July 2011.

A police spokesperson confirmed that a 27-year-old woman had died in Camden and that the cause of death was as yet unexplained. It was later reported that paramedics had said Amy was “beyond help” when they arrived.

Amy’s untimely death puts her among an infamous group of musicians who have lost their lives at the tender age of 27. The list includes: Brian Jones (The Rolling Stones), Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain (Nirvana) and Jim Morrison (The Doors).
