Stones Roses – Resurrected for the Second Coming?

The Stone Roses plan to resurrect themselves for new live shows, is this their Second Coming or is it just Fools Gold?

Daily tabloid newspaper The Sun has revealed that The Stone Roses are planning to announce a series of comeback gigs with the original line-up – Ian Brown, John Squire, Gary “Mani” Mounfield and Alan “Reni” Wren.

It was reported in the Friday 14th October edition that all four members will be present at a press conference to be held on Tuesday 18th October at an undisclosed location in London.

Back in April 2011 The Sun newspaper had reported that singer Ian Brown and guitarist John Squire had patched things up at the funeral of Stones Roses and Primal Scream bassist Mani’s mother.

Mani then later reacted violently to questions from the music magazine NME about the reunion tour saying “I’m disgusted that my personal grief has been invaded and hijacked by these nonsensical stories.” Full story on

Despite this denial earlier in the year the newspaper claims that a source close to the band has said “It has been a tough few months getting everything sorted out, but the outcome has all the lads smiling again.”
