Roy Buchanan: Greatest Unknown Guitarist in the World

Joe Bonamassa today tweeted about a great 3-part Roy Buchanan documentary called ‘Greatest Unknown Guitarist in the World’ first aired on P.B.S back in 1971.

roy-buchanan-guitarRoy was a true pioneer of the Telecaster guitar sound and is listed in both Rolling Stones’ Top 100 Guitarists of all Time and Guitar Players’ 50 Greatest Tones of all Time. Ultimately fame was to elude Buchanan, but still his playing style is considered as highly influential and praise is heaped on him by many top players of his day (notably Gary Moore, Danny Gatton, and Jeff Beck). Sadly Roy died on August 14, 1988 (suspected suicide). His legacy lives on.
