Don’t worry this is not new supergroup called Blurasis, it is an unlikely live collaboration between Brit Pop heavyweights Noel Gallagher and Damon Albarn at a Teenage Cancer Trust gig at The Royal Albert Hall, London.
The Brit-poppers were involved in a bitter feud during the mid-90s when Gallagher, then a member of Oasis, was quoted as saying that he wished Albarn would “get AIDs and die”, while Albarn always claimed he’d never be friends with Gallagher. In recent years the pair have matured and look to have settled their differences for this one-time performance for charity.
The line-up included Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon and Noel Gallagher on guitar/vocals and Paul Weller on drums. Watch the group perform Blur’s classic track ‘Tender’ below.
Noel’s younger brother Liam Gallagher showed his disapproval of their performance by tweeting “Don’t know what’s worse RKID sipping champagne with a war criminal or them backing vocals you’ve just done for BLUE ! LG x” — @LiamGallagher
