Jeff Beck receives an Honorary Fellowship from University of the Arts London and University of Sussex

Jeff Beck has received an Honorary Fellowship from University of the Arts London in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the field of Music.

On this special occasion Jeff swapped his guitar for the scroll to collect his honorary degree yesterday in London (18/7/11). Congratulations have been pouring in on Jeff’s Facebook page, and quite rightly so!

Jeff is also due to receive an honorary doctorate of music from Sussex University in Brighton later this summer.

UPDATE!

Jeff Beck has received an Honorary Degree from the University of Sussex for his ‘outstanding’ contribution and career in music.

He received his award from the comedian and actor Sanjeev Bhaskar, who is the university’s chancellor.

The university said the honour acknowledged “an outstanding musical career and celebrated the relationship between the university and the Brighton Institute of Modern Music (BIMM)”.
